The name of Alhambra comes from the Arabic “al-Qal’a al-hamra” (the red fortress) and its first builder, Muhammad I, was also known as “El Rojo” because of the coloring of his beard.

We will start by visiting the rooms of the Nasrid kings that are made up of three Palaces: the Mexuar, the Comares and the Lions. In the latter is the famous Fountain of Lions, which holds some of the surprising secrets that we will reveal throughout our visit.

What do these lions symbolize? They are all the same? Why? These are some of the questions that will arise and for which we will provide detailed and interesting answers.

To which we will add, why not, a touch of legend … such as the one that refers to the Abencerrajes family and the relationship of one of them with the “sultana” … which would end up causing a bloodbath …

The stucco decoration, the wood and ceramic coffered ceilings … The Alhambra is an essential treasure for any traveler and together we will try to discover the hidden message in the decoration of the Nasrid Palaces.

Then we will visit the Palace of Carlos V. A palace that the emperor ordered to be built after spending his honeymoon with Isabel of Portugal in La Alhambra and being amazed by the beauty of these Muslim palaces that, with poor materials for the most part, had managed to really impress the visitor.

We will also visit the military zone that protected the entire site. To highlight the Torre de la Vela, which every January 2 rings its bells to commemorate the conquest of Granada by the Catholic Monarchs and that, according to tradition, the girls have to ring three times: Once to get a boyfriend , another to get married and another to be happy …

We will finish our exciting trip to the secrets of the Alhambra, walking to the Generalife gardens: Place of rest and meditation for the kings of Al-Andalus. Today it is a beautiful space with still cultivated partitions, flowers, fountains and ditches that give it a very lively appearance, rich in colors and games of light. A spectacle to behold and the perfect place for the best photos, we will have time for everything!
