Description
Each city has a different scent and each perfume is reminiscent of a city.
We propose you a sensory experience based on a box with seven perfumes that we will analyze in seven beautiful corners of the oldest neighborhood of Granada, the Albaicín.
Read moreMultiple olfactory sensations to evoke with each of our fragrances; like jasmine, a representative flower of the medieval neighborhoods of Granada, orange blossom with blooming orange trees, a typical tree of the Albaicín. And obviously the queen of flowers: the rose, formerly used as an aphrodisiac and a symbol of carnal passion in many cultures, which is also present in all the Carmenes and their gardens.
In these two hours of guided walk we will let ourselves be guided by smell, while our expert guide takes us back through the history of perfume to medieval Granada. To discover a time when perfumes were restricted to religious ceremonies and their evolution until the use of perfume was considered as a symbol of power and luxury.
Our guide will explain to us how perfume was part of the history and tradition of Al-Andalus, and we will learn about its origins by visiting the Cármenes del Albaicín, its houses and gardens at the same time that he will teach us how fragrances are made.
The theory will take us into practice through the set of perfumes that we will bring during the visit to make this an enveloping experience, which will end with a master class in the “Patio de los Perfumes”. A beautiful 17th century palace where they will show us the art of making perfumes from ancient times to the present day and Nasrid perfumes in Granada.
Come discover the intense oriental notes of the legendary Al-Andalus with us!
