The journey from Granada is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, which we will do in a luxury Mercedes with a private driver.
Our starting point is in Úbeda. Settled in the Guadalquivir Valley, the municipality has a valuable Renaissance mark, highlighting the Plaza Vázquez de Molina.
An enclave made up of the Sacred Chapel of El Salvador, the Church of Santa María de los Reales Alcázares and the Vázquez de Molina Palace -current City Hall-. Walking through its cobbled streets, churches of great historical wealth and old convents that give it that peculiar touch.
We arrive at the Primero de Mayo square, where the Gothic-tinged church of San Pablo is located, one of the oldest temples in the city.
We will stop for lunch and enjoy the excellent local cuisine always seasoned with the excellent olive oil of this region. And free time if we want to buy crafts and local products.
In the afternoon we go to Baeza. The nerve center of this city will mark the beginning of our route through the Renaissance: the Plaza de Santa María.
It is a magnificent setting enhanced by the Cathedral. The square is adorned with a great Fountain of Santa María, which remains in the center of the enclave.
This beautiful picture is completed by the San Felipe Neri seminary, which together with the Palacio de Jabalquinto annex makes up one of the most representative images of the heritage city.
We will also visit the Church of Santa Cruz, which is one of the few Romanesque-style temples that remain in good condition in Andalusia.
We continue to the end of the Paseo de la Constitución to reach the Plaza del Pópulo, where we can also see the Puerta de Úbeda, the best fortified entrance to the Baezano walled enclosure.
We conclude the trip by a quiet itinerary on the Paseo de las Murallas, in which a landscape of green olive groves with the mountain system that surrounds the municipality stands.
